Record a breeding group and an observed mating

Choose Add event or plan → Introduce breeding male / pasture group. Enter the introduction date, male, pasture name and every female present. On a keyboard, use Ctrl/Command to select multiple females. Save. Later edit the same entry and enter the date the male was removed. An open exposure has no known latest possible birth date.

When mating is observed, create Observed mating / insemination, select the female and sire, and record the date. The calendar calculates a species-based estimate. Exposure and mating are observations; neither confirms pregnancy. An exposure and a separate mating can produce separate estimates because they describe different evidence.

For birds, record Start egg incubation. A mating date cannot predict the day an egg will hatch. The current entry associates the incubation with an animal; flock/batch inventory integration remains to be configured against the site’s tables.
