Set an animal’s purpose and plan its care

Choose Animal purpose and husbandry plan and select Breeding, Sell, Slaughter, Keep or Undecided. Enter the desired date or target age in months; 48 means four years. Select a matching production system only when it applies to your operation. Farm-specific dates work for any species or breed.

Optional examples currently include conventional beef-calf weaning, early lamb weaning, dam-reared meat goats, rabbit fryers, commercial broad-breasted turkeys and foal weaning. Recommendations are readiness reviews, not instructions to perform a procedure. Heritage turkeys must not inherit the commercial finishing schedule. Explicit dates/ages override processing defaults.

Enter your weaning, veterinary castration and vaccination appointments as appropriate. Edit an existing plan to change its dates. Open a reminder and choose Complete this reminder to record its actual date and outcome while leaving other tasks active. A completed event offers Reopen this reminder for corrections. Moving a task to a new date creates a new dated reminder and preserves its earlier completion history. Mark the whole plan Completed only when all of its outstanding reminders are finished. The calendar does not alter medical records or administer treatments.

Female cattle with a known birth date receive a reminder to ask an accredited veterinarian about calfhood Brucellosis vaccination. Eligibility and requirements depend on state rules and the animal. Cattle reaching 30 months receive a processing reminder: additional specified-risk-material handling applies at that age and older. This is not a compulsory slaughter deadline. Arrange processing with your chosen processor and account for applicable withdrawal periods.
